Cootharinga North Queensland has been operating for over 60 years providing quality services to over 650 people of all abilities across North Queensland. Our Services include:

Walk With Me
For many people with disabilities in North Queensland, living an independent life is now a reality because of the valuable support of Cootharinga. In the past normal daily tasks have been impossible to achieve for a person living with a disability, however, with Cootharinga's assistance overcoming these challenges have become empowered steps towards individual independence. Our focus is to actively empower people through person centered practice's to develop their abilities; we achieve this by listening to the individual in order to understand what is really important to them. This person centered planning approach helps them work towards the goal of remaining in charge of their own independence, life choices and social inclusion. They are able to achieve their individual wants, needs and dreams and break down barriers in the community.

The aim of Walk With Me is to strongly promote this inclusion and independence! So please, join us in attending Cootharinga's 3rd Annual Walk With Me event - where you will be able to spend time with someone with a disability, learn more about their abilities and help us raise much-needed funds for our Allied Health Service for Children, Supported Accommodation Services and our Respite Services. Please invite your family and friends to support us and celebrate Ability!
