New flavours for City’s winter Fridays
Foodies and arts lovers have declared the City of Perth’s Winter Supper Club a welcome
addition to their calendars and are looking forward to the next and final two instalments
at Perth Town Hall on Friday 27 July and 31 August, 5-8pm.
As part of the City of Perth Winter Arts Season, Supper Club brings together culinary
and artistic delights from talented local creators, turning the Town Hall undercroft into a
European-style night market brimming with tasty aromas and sweet sounds supplied by
our Winter Artists.
Attendees comments from last month included: "This should be a permanent fixture.
Markets are the bomb diggity!", "I wish it was every night", and "Great live band, fun
atmosphere! Would love to see more stalls at the next Supper Club".
Answering the calls of Perth food fans, the range of deliciousness in July will include the
return of paella, bratwurst, crepes and churros, as well as the addition of hearty soups
with organic bread, goulash pies, and traditional German gugelhopf (chocolate bread).
Be sure to save room for some delectable handmade chocolate truffles with a cup of hot
mulled wine as you take in the sounds of Voyces choral ensemble’s contemporary and
jazz repertoire, alternating with sets from some of WA’s best young jazz musicians.
There’ll be plenty for the eyes to feast on too, with the Town Hall staying open late to
show off the sumptuous Holy Buddhist Relics exhibition – curious pearl-like objects said
to be left behind after cremation, housed in beautifully elaborate reliquaries.
Fill your Friday night food and arts appetite with Perth’s most affordable ‘dinner and
show’, with three hours of free entertainment, at the place Perth’s leading food bloggers
are tweeting about: Winter Supper Club.
Make a night of it, or fit in a quick bite after work, in between late night shopping, or on
your way to dinner or drinks. Whatever the weather, the Perth Town Hall’s gothic arches
will have your Friday night supping needs well and truly covered.
