This event has now passed
In a short time Sydney hip-hop group The Herd have, gained much attention for their politically charged, socially motivated lyrical expression. The 9-piece band formed around 2000 and have since released three albums, including their most recent album, The Sun Never Sets - off which they had the two songs, Only 19 and We Cant Hear You, feature in 2005 Triple J's Hottest 100.
Since 2003 the band have been touring extensively across Australia, making a name for themselves as one of Sydney's best live acts. They have played at a variety of venues, from The Hordern Pavilion in front of a sold out audience supporting Grand Master Flash, to more local based shows at Community Festivals, Union Rallies and Detention Centres.
The Herd's road to success started in 2001 with the release of their self-titled debut album that featured the humorous song Scallops - which quickly gained high rotation on Triple J's airwaves. They then gained further attention through An Elefant Never Forgets, which featured two controversial songs: 77% and Burn Down The Parliament - which was ironically released the same week as the Canberra Bush Fires.
