The National Sports Museum has announced that it will host an exclusive exhibition of Olympic posters organised by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. A Call to the Games: Olympic Posters, will be on display in the National Sports Museum at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from June 18 – September 16, 2012.

These posters offer a fascinating record of our world - four-yearly snapshots through which we can explore links between sport and art, politics and place, commerce and culture. Among the notable names who've designed Games posters include the pop artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, for the Winter and Summer Games of 1984, and American-born RB Kitaj for Munich 1972. Other artists include David Hockney, R.B. Kitaj and Victor Vasarely. Important graphic designers are represented, including Otl Aicher, Yusaku Kamekura, Armando Testa and Lance Wyman.
