"Tuesdays are a winner!"
Hi guys, I have lived in the area for several years now and make frequent use of the 2-4-1 Tuesday meal deal, so my experience of the Indus (and hence this review) is in this context. I have eaten there at least 20 times and have never witnessed any of the ranting and raving mentioned in other reviews. I agree that the food varies a bit from visit to visit, but overall it's well presented, fresh, and very tasty. The Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala are the best dishes on the menu (and I've pretty much had them all). My wife and I usually order a curry each and a naan to share, and the bill comes to about $22 total - that's a pretty cheap night out if you ask me... We have been happy enough with the place to take many friends and family there over the last few years, and even had a mini-reception there after returning from getting married overseas. We've also tried the other restaurants (Indian and otherwise) in the area, and keep coming back to the Indus for it's good value, reliability, and tasty menu. As an alternative, the Green Mango (Thai restaurant) is similarly good, reliable, and inexpensive - it's not far from the Indus on MacGregor Tce, Bardon. …

"Expensive, yet needs to dilute the liquid soap"
Went as a group of five for a birthday lunch. We were encouraged by the waiter to get nine dishes to share. The food was nice but the portions were miniscule and I left still feeling hungry. When it came to paying we pooled our credit cards together to split the bill. When the waiter came back she told us that they don't normally split the bill but they would do it this time. I find this policy ridiculous considering a) the cost was an exorbitant $43 per person, and b) they encouraged dish sharing on their menu - so why not make it easier to share the bill too? Finally the soap dispenser in the bathroom was heavily diluted with water, the net effect is that when you press the plunger, the contents squirts out and hits you rather than your waiting hand - really annoying when you are wearing an expensive outfit. It tells you a lot about the management's mindset when they have to stoop to diluting the liquid soap. Surely it wouldn't break the budget to give the customers undiluted liquid soap? All up a very annoying dining experience. Don't think we'll be going back there ever again, and we'll be telling all our friends to avoid this place. …

"Delicious!"
Bright, fresh and funky food, this place never disappoints! Famous among locals for it's massuman. Also good is the basil chilli stir-fry and the Thai wings entrĂ©e, but the whole menu is original and looks great. Not too busy, relaxed and clean atmosphere, beautiful food with lots of colourful veggies. …
