The number eight has a lot of significance… Now that Pluto has been relegated to dwarf planet, our solar system has eight planets. Eight is the atomic number of oxygen, without which we can not live. Damir Dokic could spend up to eight years in jail after posing threats and dabbling in bomb making. And most importantly, eight is the number of years Family @ Family has been bringing you the crème-de-la-crème in clubbing and dance music.

Lee Haslam (Slinky UK)
Lee Haslam has rapidly become one of the UK’s most prolific tech trance producers, releasing over twenty productions and remixes since his transition. His talents have been employed by some of the biggest labels in the scene from Perfecto to Discover, remixing some of the masterpieces from the likes of Dumonde, Lost Tribe, R.O.O.S., Sean Tyas, The Shy Brothers and Out Of Office to name just a few. His pure dedication and total passion for the music he loves to make and play out has earned him plenty of respect and carved him a first-class reputation within the music industry.

Baby Gee
Not since the 90s has a Baby Gee had such street cred! Flooding our ears for more than a decade with his unique brand of beats – covering everything from Tech Trance to Big Room Electro and Jackin’ House – Baby Gee dominates both local and national dance arenas. Springing sets at Sensation White, Ministry of Sound Festival, and Summerfieldayze (to name a few), and having worked alongside greats like Tiesto, Carl Cox and Groove Armada and Armin van Buuren (plus many more), it comes as no surprise that Baby Gee ranked as Australia’s number 4 DJ in 2008. Recently signed to Bass Kleph’s label Vacation Records, Baby Gee is set to reach enormous heights in the coming years.

Syke
Acclaimed around town as the Mr. T of uplifting Tech Trance, we pity the fool that hasn’t laid ears on a Syke set. Recognized as one of the finest Trance and Progressive artists to stem from Brisbane, Syke has been touted by heavyweights like Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell and Benny Bennassi, and was voted as one of the nation’s Top 50 DJs in 2008. With his consistent Big Room sets, his “nice guy” attitude, and his seamless ability to mix multiple genres Syke continues to push the boundaries; growing and developing his sound across the country and around the world.

TyDi
Our favourite success story to date comes in the shape of TyDi. Starting his career at a tender age 15, after winning first place at the ‘Central Station DJ Competition’, TyDi’s progression to fully fledged Family headliner and Australia’s favourite DJ was super swift. Merging Orchestral with Electronica, Trance, Tech, House and Pop, TyDi has one of the most distinctive sounds in the biz – a sound that saw him claim Australia’s highly coveted No. 1 DJ spot in 2008. With his first album 'Look Closer' making an impressive debut on the ARIA Dance Charts and on the international Beatport charts, Australia's No. 1 DJ is a man on the rise.

Dynasty
With a name that refers to a reign of royalty, Dynasty has been heralded as the new prince of Brisbane Trance. Dynasty’s love for blending the funky get-up-and-move sounds of House, with the melodic beauty of Trance has seen him DJ alongside some of the biggest names in the business including: Kyau & Albert, Sophie Sugar, Steve Hill, Christopher Lawrence and 4Strings to name a few. With an unmatched lucid track selection, mixing ability, and bumping energy, Dynasty is certain to be a force to be reckoned with in 2009.

Hektic
A young Hardstyle upstart DJ Hektic, takes a lyrical approach towards potent rhythms. With excellent scratching skills, Hektic embellishes the melodic textures of German Hard Trance, UK material and Hardstyle tracks to deliver more-than-memorable sets. Whether it’s playing with the effects, sampling, or scratching Hektic constantly keeps people entertained and on their feet dancing. With only a few years to his name, Hektic is a promising young DJ, set to ignite Australia’s Hard Dance scene.
