City Hall Concert Series

Australia’s leading taiko drumming group, TaikOz combines with prominent Melbourne DJ/Producer, DJ M-Royce to present TaikoDeck.

This visually spectacular show features taiko drums and percussion instruments including traditional Japanese bamboo flutes, bells, gongs and cymbals.

Presiding over the stage is one of the most impressive taiko drums, the odaiko Grand Drum, a percussion beat that weighs 250kg and requires considerable strength and endurance by the performer. The contrast between strong-armed dynamics and finesse on the more delicate instruments in the TaikOz arsenal makes for a spellbinding experience.

TaikoDeck is a joint collaboration between TaikOz member, Tom Royce-Hampton and his brother, DJ M-Royce, with the vision of fusing East and West styles to result in a performance not just for the ears and eyes, but felt throughout the entire body!
