"Tuesdays are a winner!"
I have lived in the area for several years now and make frequent use of the 2-4-1 Tuesday meal deal, so my experience of the Indus (and hence this review) is in this context. I have eaten there at least 20 times and have never witnessed any of the ranting and raving mentioned in other reviews.
I agree that the food varies a bit from visit to visit, but overall it's well presented, fresh, and very tasty. The Lamb Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala are the best dishes on the menu (and I've pretty much had them all). My wife and I usually order a curry each and a naan to share, and the bill comes to about $22 total - that's a pretty cheap night out if you ask me...
We have been happy enough with the place to take many friends and family there over the last few years, and even had a mini-reception there after returning from getting married overseas. We've also tried the other restaurants (Indian and otherwise) in the area, and keep coming back to the Indus for it's good value, reliability, and tasty menu.
As an alternative, the Green Mango (Thai restaurant) is similarly good, reliable, and inexpensive - it's not far from the Indus on MacGregor Tce, Bardon. …
